Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, previously known as Harris County Medical Examiner's Office, is located in Houston, Texas. The institute is a part of the Texas Medical Center.

The laboratory offers medical examiner services such as forensic pathology, anthropology, forensic imaging and histology. The lab later expanded and now offers forensic toxicology, forensic entomology, trace evidence, forensic genetics, drug chemistry and firearms identification.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is accredited by seven scientific accrediting orgaizations:
