Haystack was a former fishing settlement located on the northern portion of Long Island, Placentia Bay of the island of Newfoundland in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It was resettled during the resettlement program of the the 1950’s and 60’s.[1]

The community takes its name from a natural protuberance approximately 50 feet high located 400 yards from the north extreme of the peninsula; called the haystack.[2]
