Rendering issue on mobile

Raised a discussion at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Javascript_makes_.7B.7Bimage_array.7D.7D_look_like_garbage_on_mobile regarding the appearance of these images on mobile. —Designate (talk) 18:47, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I added an explicit width statement, which seems to have improved the layout on my iPhone. we saw a similar issue with Chessboard and Chessboard mxn. Frietjes (talk) 15:13, 25 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, it worked! Great job, thanks. —Designate (talk) 16:18, 25 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The layout of this template seems to be broken

Whenever I add this template in the middle of a paragraph

it seems to disrupt the flow of the text, as shown here. Is it possible to avoid this problem so that it does not disrupt the text, like Template:Multiple images? Jarble (talk) 20:05, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Frietjes: Will it be possible to fix this bug? Jarble (talk) 20:05, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Jarble, probably not. this template was designed for adding arrays of images to an infobox. adding a large array of images in the middle of text is not going to be feasible. Frietjes (talk) 14:21, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Frietjes:This image array

creates an unnecessary line break even when it contains only one photograph, unlike other images in Wikipedia that do not split up the text at all.

Template:Multiple image doesn't introduce unnecessary line breaks, so I'm sure that it would be possible to fix this problem with Template:Image array as well. Can you recommend any ways to work around this issue? Jarble (talk) 19:56, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Jarble, so use multiple image? why do you want to use this template outside of an infobox? Frietjes (talk) 20:06, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Frietjes: Template:Multiple image is much less convenient than Template:Image array. It requires the width or height of every image to be specified manually. Both of these templates have some cumbersome limitations, and I'm trying to work around them. (talk) 20:48, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
