Useless diacritics

The current article states that "The charts below show the way in which the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) represents Lithuanian language pronunciations in Wikipedia articles". The diacritics denoting dental pronunciation are crucial for English speakers to understand that Lithuanian consonants are different from English ones. This is a Wikipedia in English after all. The place for narrow descriptions of Lithuanian sounds is Lithuanian phonology, not this guide, the aim of which is only to give a general idea on how to pronounce Lithuanian words. The dental diacritics are not needed here, as e.g. ⟨t⟩ in the official IPA may be dental, denti-alveolar, alveolar or postalveolar, depending on the language/accent (see Handbook of the IPA). Besides, Lithuanian contrasts dentals with alveolars only in case of sibilants, which already have different symbols from the dentals. Peter238 (talk) 16:13, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
