Response variable
Appearance
In statistics, a response variable (or response) is a factor whose values in different treatment conditions of an experiment are compared with statistical tests. It is not manipulated directly by the experimenter. A response variable is frequently called a dependent variable or a criterion variable. When graphing, the response variable is plotted on the Y-Axis. The value of a response variable may be related to the values of one or more predictor, explanatory or independent variables.
