The Ford Model N engine was first released with the Ford Model N at the New York Auto show in New York City, New York in 1906 (The 6th year of its running). The engine at fist was a 2 cylinder with two spark plugs per cylinder. The valves had an L layout, meaning there was one valve per cylinder with the valve set off to the side with the valve stem pointing towards the crankcase and oil pan or the bottom of the engine.
