New protection feature
I recently read on WP:AN about the new protection feature for protecting redlinks without using WP:SALT, and instead, just using the regular protection ability. Does anyone else think that should be included here? Acalamari 18:35, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, that would be helpful, you may want to include MediaWiki:Titleblacklist also and how to use it. Oysterguitarist 23:30, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- Its now depricated. Same protection procedure as a blue linked article.--Hu12 (talk) 20:43, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Note: it was created at Wikipedia:new admin/Protecting deleted pages. Acalamari 20:40, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
New section
Added Wikipedia:New_admin_school/Protecting#Special_pages. Although New admins most likely won't act as quickly on these types of pages as the veterans, some guidence may be helpful. Correct or modify as needed. thanks--Hu12 (talk) 20:39, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Outdated instructions
The instructions here seem to be from a previous version of the tools. They say to choose block new and unregistered users or block all non-admin users. Actually the menu actually now says Allow all users, Allow only autoconfirmed users, etc. Shall I rewrite the parts where I feel confident what needs to be corrected? --MelanieN (talk) 17:16, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
- I've had this in the back of my mind since I became an admin; going through here was unclear because so many of the interfaces have changed since the new admin school pages were last updated, so feel free to go ahead and I'll help where I can if I have the time.
