You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but if you wish to acquire additional privileges, you can simply create an account. It's free, requires no personal information, and lets you:
- Create new pages and rename pages
- Edit semi-protected pages
- Upload images
- Have your own watchlist, which shows when articles you are interested in have changed
If you edit without an account, your IP address (86.169.107.8) is used to identify you instead.
We hope that you choose to become a Wikipedian and create an account. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}}
before the question on this page. We also have an intuitive guide on editing if you're interested. By the way, please make sure to sign and date your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~).
Happy editing! I dream of horses If you reply here, please leave me a {{Talkback}} message on my talk page. @ 21:35, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
- You really should consider getting a username- you're doing a lot of good work (I noticed your FF7 contributions today, and they look great!) but it seems like your IP address is shifting occasionally; unless I'm mistaken, you were 86.180.120.65 two weeks ago, 86.143.90.230 before that... it looks like you've had at least 10 IP addresses since September, and likely quite a few before that as well. It's up to you if you want to register, but it does make having any sort of long-term conversation difficult if your handle changes every couple of weeks. Speaking of conversations, though- since it seems like you have an interest in video games, consider checking out the Video games WikiProject, which is where editors interested in video games come together to discuss issues that affect more than one article, or get help/second opinions on their work. There's also the Square Enix project, which is the same thing but focused more narrowly on articles about topics related to Square Enix, such as Final Fantasy VII - we currently have a collaboration project going to fix up all the articles related to the game, such as Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. In any case, I hope to see you around! --PresN 19:35, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
![]() | This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
