#redirect open-source architecture

OpenStructures is an open source modular construction model based on a shared geometrical grid, called the OS grid.Conceived by designer Thomas Lommée, the project was first shown at Z33. [1]

Scales

OS Scales includes, from smallest to biggest:[2]

  • Parts.
  • Components or organs, as motors.[3]
  • Structures, where different components are composed with frames and joints, as a bicycle.[4][5]

Open Architecture

One of the research areas of OpenStructures is architecture. Three architects of the Brussels Cooperation Collective have worked on the subject. [6]
