Crows Explode (クローズ EXPLODE, Kurozu Explode) is a 2014 Japanese action film directed by Toshiaki Toyoda. It is the third film based on the manga Crows by Hiroshi Takahashi, and a sequel to 2009's Crows Zero 2. A month after the event of Crows Zero 2 and one semester before the event of Crows, it features new characters and an almost entirely new cast, including Masahiro Higashide and Taichi Saotome.[1] The film was released in Japan on April 12, 2014.[2]
Plot
A month after Genji Takiya's graduation, the battle for supremacy at Suzuran All-Boys High School begins anew. Transfer student Kaburagi Kazeo (Masahiro Higashide) combats Kagami Ryohei (Taichi Saotome) for the coveted top spot, amidst a brewing inter-school conflict with Kurosaki Industrial High.[3]

Production
The first trailer was released online by World Cinema News on April 17, 2013.[4] The cast was officially revealed at a press conference on April 3, 2013.[5] Of the cast from the first two films, only Kyosuke Yabe and Motoki Fukami are confirmed to be returning, reprising their roles as Katagiri Ken and Rindaman respectively.[6]
Reception
As of 11 May 2014, the film has grossed US$10,315,875 in Japan.[7]
Home-Media
The movie is set to-be-released in Japan in Blu-ray and DVD on October 22 and it will have an Standard and a Premium Edition.[8] The movie will also be released in Spain after Mediatres Estudio earn the right of distribution according to an agreement with the japanese company Tokyo Broadcasting System, the date is yet to-be-set.[9]
