The Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) is a non-profit organisation in Singapore which aims to build a world class organisation dedicated to helping dyslexic people [1] and those with specific learning differences in Singapore. It provides services ranging from screening and assessments to diagnose for dyslexia and other specific learning differences, to educational therapy and tutoring services for students with dyslexia.

The Dyslexia Association of Singapore identifies itself as a social enterprise, using its business as a means to help dyslexic people achieve. The surplus from the business arm is used to fulfill their social objective of raising awareness and acceptance of dyslexia[2].

Organisational Structure

The Dyslexia Association of Singapore was registered with the Registry of Societies in October 1991 [3]. The Dyslexia Association of Singapore is headed by the Executive Committee who appoints the Chief Executive Officer to oversee daily operations in the organisation. The current CEO is Lee Siang, who assumed the position on 1st September 2014 following the retirement of CEO Robin Mosely.

In May 2014, Specialised Educational Services (SES) was formed to provide services tailored for students with specific learning differences.

Subsidiaries

DAS Academy

DAS Academy is a Private Education Institution (PEI) registered with the council for Private Education CPE) in Singapore. Services provided by the DAS Academy are courses and workshops in the area of special educational needs. DAS Academy has partnered with the London Metrpolitian University to provide the Master of Arts in Specific Learning Differences (MA SpLD).

DAS International

DAS International is the interational arm of DAS which aims to promote its services to the region.
