The name Tau Theta comes from Tau (Lafayette College) & Theta Xi (University of Toronto), the two most influential chapters in the creation of Tau Theta.
In 2008, the Tau Theta Chapter was a major contributor to the founding and establishment Alpha Sigma Chi, the first female sorority on campus.

Tau Theta also participates in volunteer work at St. Vincent’s Kitchen in downtown Oshawa and sponsors a child in Africa.
There are currently over 150 alumni and undergraduate student members of the Tau theta Chapter.
