SAP Central Process Scheduling by Redwood (SAP CPS), is a real time event driven process scheduler incorporated into SAP ERP components. It automates the background jobs, eliminates errors when processing jobs and overall makes the system much more efficient.

SAP CPS is now a standard component of the SAP NetWeaver platform. Its capabilities allow customers to centrally automate and manage all of their background processes and automate business solutions running on top of the SAP NetWeaver platform. These applications include SAP Solution Manager and SAP Closing Cockpit. These solutions use the SAP CPS component to extend their own functionality, especially towards cross-system and non-SAP applications.
