Suggestions

How about contacting Leo laporte and/or his team over at TWiT.tv (network) as well as having a wikipedia article himself, they have a lot of people with wikipedia articles coming through thier doors.

Edison

I am currently reading the book "Perfecting Sound Forever" by Greg Milner (UK Publ. Granta Books, 2009; USA Publ Faber and Faber Inc. 2009). On page 34 the author mentions that Edison's original ideas concerning the application of phonograph included recording the voices of famous people, amongst other uses which "emphasized the act of preserving information".
