Usage
When a file on Wikipedia File namespace is marked for speedy deletion through {{di-replaceable fair use}}, use this template to dispute the speedy deletion. A {{di-replaceable fair use}}
is used to mark a non-free (copyright-protected) file as covering a subject for which a free file of the same type (image or otherwise) that adequately provides the same information might reasonably be found or created, or which could be adequately covered with text alone. In turn this template might be used to counter that claim by providing a valid reason.
Syntax
{{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
<your reason> | State your reason in the first unnamed parameter |
bgcolor=<CSS color> | This named parameter changes the background color. It is not to be used in ordinary day-to-day use. Replace <CSS color> with a valid web color value. |
![]() | It is disputed whether this file violates our non-free content criteria. The reason given is: <This image and content was created as part of a promotional brochure while I (Ralph Nieders) was the project manager for the cross-border terminal at GAP in Mexico. I wrote the content and directed the design of the image. There is no free equivalent available and text cannot show the unique features of the crossing, such as its modular design for future expansion. It also shows how advanced the project was when it was cancelled by GAP. Though the brochure and its contents were suppose to be free material to be distributed to officials both in Mexico and U.S., when the project was cancelled, the brochures were thrown away and I have the last known remaining copy.> Closing administrator: if the decision is to Keep the file please put {{Old replaceable non-free use}} on the file description page. If the decision is to Delete please archive the discussion on the talk page between {{subst:Archive top}} and {{subst:Archive bottom}} and delete the file page. |
