Azov Upland

Azov Upland is a plateau or a set of hills in East Ukraine within the Donetsk and Zaporizhia oblasts and corresponds to the southeastern part of the Ukrainian Shield (known as the Azov Crystalline Massif).

To the north the upland is bounded by the Dnieper Lowland and the Donets Ridge; to its northeast, lays the Donets Ridge; to its southwest, lays the Black Sea Lowland; and to its south, stretches the Azov Lowland which is a continuation of the Black Sea Lowland.

The average elevation of the plain is between 200-250 m. The highest hill is Belmak-Mohyla or Horyla 327 m (1,073 ft); among others include Tovmak-Mohyla 307 m (1,007 ft), and the Stone Mounds (Kamiani Mohyly), which rise 100 m or more.
