A fish stringer is a line of chain or rope consisting of sharp items across the line. It isn't commonly used by anglers. Fish stringers contain lead a poisonous substance that can cause cancer,birth defects and other reproductive harm. Fish stringers, if a chain, will have consistent metal links. The sharp items on the stringer are made to hold fish that weigh 30-40 pounds.The average length of a fish stringer is 46 inches.
