Out-of-place quotation

TIP, the first search system that uses a database of over 25,000 records, is the first online system that can retrieve citations by bibliographic coupling or cited references and allows a searcher to save output, provide online output or provide offline printing. TIP allows left-trunation searches and Boolean searching

The above paragraph was taken directly from the page: of Information Science and Technology (1960-1965 where the author also gives reference to Bourne, C.P. and Hahn, T. B. A History of Online Information Services, 1963-1976. Cambridge, MA: MIT Press, 2003. if anybody knows more, perhaps what the systems name ment or has access to the book mentioned then I encourage them to create a stub, sorry I can't add more myself Doctus 02:16, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone that has ever attended TiP will sing to the skies the wonders that are encompased within that magical place. This article is not nearly as biased as it should, and has a right, to be. Please leave the TiP page up to experienced TiPsters. -Llove, The Patron Saint of all Things Jamaican —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 166.82.114.28 (talkcontribs).

Pretty much. No matter how much you like TiP, the Wikipedia article doesn't deserve to be as butchered as you say it should. --Thatkidsam 17:25, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Major cleanup needed

Wow, this article is dirty -- no doubt the result of TIP students' editing the site after their experiences. The unsourced quote a few paragraphs in must be attributed soon or will be deleted. The article as a whole should do a better job of representing all of the programs TIP offers, of which the popular Center for Summer Studies and Academy for Summer Studies are just a part (see TIP Scholar Weekends, etc.). You may find it helpful while reading or editing articles to look at a bibliography of Intelligence Citations, posted for the use of all Wikipedians who have occasion to edit articles on human intelligence and related issues. I happen to have circulating access to a huge academic research library at a university with an active research program in these issues (and to another library that is one of the ten largest public library systems in the United States) and have been researching these issues since 1989. You are welcome to use these citations for your own research. You can help other Wikipedians by suggesting new sources through comments on that page. It will be extremely helpful for articles on human intelligence and gifted young people to edit them according to the Wikipedia standards for reliable sources for medicine-related articles, as it is important to get these issues as well verified as possible. -- WeijiBaikeBianji (talk) 05:10, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe press release template would be better for the main page.

Even more than like an advertisement, the article reads like a press release. How about that template change? (Better still, of course, to find sources and fix the article.) -- WeijiBaikeBianji (talk) 00:30, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
