Denomales edits...

I've been looking for a simple how-to regarding remastering Damn Small Linux. The closest I could find was a forum posting, but it was flawed. So after 4 weeks of trial and error, I finally got it all to work.

Now I'm just trying to give something back.

Sorry to dissapoint after all your hard work, but that content was not acceptable, as I pointed out on your talk page. It might be acceptable as a link (maybe too specific though), but that content did not belong in the Wikipedia article. As I said, Wikipedia is not a HOWTO. Imroy 07:37, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Spammy edits...

I've been seeing a lot of bloat on this article recently. I'd like to point out that wiki is not a forum for promoting your favorite "brand" of linux.

Also, I edited the wording of the one sentence that said "Currently (site name I forgot) has over 200 programs, I added a specific date, so that the article ages a bit easier.

  • Seconded on spam. This article sounds more like advocacy than the NPOV the wikipedia holds for. I call for someone to tidy this up.
  • Thirded, I'm adding {{advert}}. Reasons include the presence of many subjective terms, including :
    • "It is ideal for use on older x86 computers due to its low memory requirements and small size (50 MiB), and is noted for its compactness and robustness."
    • "has grown into a large community project with many contributors, most notably Robert Shingledecker for the creation of the MyDSL system, DSL Control Panel, and much more."
    • "The MyDSL extensions and servers are handled and maintained by Ke4nt and hosted by many kind organizations"

Minimal Requirements?

A list of the minimal hardware requirements (RAM size, etc.) would be nice—thanks! Maikel 19:18, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I added the list of requirements taken from the DSL Wiki site. [[1]]. They may be a bit extensive for the wikipedia page though. Feel free to remove parts. Bugalicio 1:52, 20 May 2006 (GMT+10)

  • I'm nuking that. The talk page isn't the place for support requests, and the article isn't the place to answer to misplaced support requests. Also, please explain the licensing of DSL's wiki if you want to copy content from it as massively as you did in the future.--Chealer 08:17, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Old dicussions

'Stuffing the Penguin'?!

Eh? Some explanation in the article would be nice Dan100 00:53, Feb 19, 2005 (UTC)

-random guy replying stuffing the penguin is the mydsl system. it's a metaphor.

No Luit In Damn Small

As the creator and current co-author of Damn Small Linux I can assure you that we are not basing our development on Luit Linux. Luit started life as a remaster of Damn Small.
