SDX refers to Software-defined Everything. The term SDX was first used by Charles C. Sun[1][2][3][4][5][6] during the Q & A session at the Digital Government Institute (DGI) Enterprise Architecture Conference & Expo 2014 held on May 1, 2014 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC.[7]

SDX includes, but not limits to, Software-defined Networking (SDN), Software-defined Data Center,[8] Software-defined Servers,[9] Software-defined Services, Software-defined Storage (SDS),[10] Software-defined IT, etc.
