Cdnjs is a community driven, peer reviewed script repository, non-profit and open-source Content Distribution Network, for popular web development frameworks, with a wide range of community-driven projects hosted on a global CDN to speed up the web as a whole. Created in 2011, Cdnjs has gained notable reputation among developers, and now serves traffic comparable with Microsoft's and Yahoo's content distribution networks. BuiltWith reports that over 127, 000 websites now use Cdnjs to host their files.[1][2][3] Cdnjs Selections are five hand-picked JavaScript libraries, selected specifically for functionality/features/etc. seen as universally needed for pushing the web forward, while supporting legacy browsers.[4] Web Perfomance Optimization (WPO) gains from utilizing Cdnjs Scripts:

  • using Cdnjs from a shared url raises the possibility the user will already have it cached in their browser.
  • Cdnjs is global, optimizing for each delivery from the closest node.

The project, as of June 2013, hosts over 400 libraries, which contain Flash, CSS, HTML and JavaScript. The library submissions are maintained by 300+ developers, using GitHub as the central management tool.[5] The project infrastructure is sponsored by and hosted on Cloudflare's[6] world-wide servers as of early 2011.[7][8] Many popular JavaScript libraries endorse Cdnjs as an official hosting source.

Many popular websites also use Cdnjs[1]
