Mmm... Cookies is an American duo formed by the existing lead members of an American rock band Linkin Park. The duo is formed by the frontman of the band "Chester Bennington" and the second vocalist "Mike Shinoda". The duo was a One-hit wonder, known for their single released EP "Sweet Hamster Like Jewels From America!".[1][2] The duo did not record any new songs but instead of that they released some unreleased songs while recording for the band and naming them as Cookies.

History

All the songs released in the EP were cookie tracks which were recorded by the duo during recording for the Studio albums for the band. Since the tracks were cookie tracks the duo named themselves as Mmm... Cookies. Mike Shinoda wanted something different to be released in 2008 from one of the annual releases EP from the fan club of the band "Linkin Park Underground" because of the criticism faced after the release of the EP LP Underground 7.0 which consisted only live tracks. The fan club used to release a EP which included the live version of the songs, B-sides and demos of the released songs by the band. There was another EP released the same year before this project named as "Songs from the Underground". In an interview Mike Shinoda said:

In previous years, we've released LPU CDs that contain B-sides, live tracks, and lesser-known or unknown songs from the band. This year, we have decided to do something totally unprecedented and unexpected. The LPU8 CD contains six totally new, original studio songs that Chester and I recorded in our free time in the past couple of years. But these aren't normal Linkin Park songs. Working on a song for an album is sometimes a lot of work, and occasionally we need some time to unwind. When Chester and I unwind, sometimes we make another kind of lighter, fun song. We call these songs "cookies." I think came from the idea that you get your dessert (your cookies) after you eat all the rest of your meal. The songs on the LPU 8 CD are random, silly, and they fall into a variety of styles, from a James-Brown-Meets-Bobby-McFerrin track called 'You Ain't Gotsta Gotsta' to a mock electro-club-banger called '26 Lettaz in Da Alphabet'.

The Future

In a LPU Chat session Chester Bennington said that the duo would not appear again. He said:

I'd probably imagine we're not going to play MMM…Cookies- it wasn't really meant to be anything besides fun!

Musical Styles

The duo released all humorous and funny tracks. The title of the tracks were also funny. The duo adapted the musical style of Comedy rock as well as alternative rock. Alternative touch to the songs were given due to the Linkin Park effect.
