In a Protestant hymnal, 1901

Valet will ich dir geben is a Lutheran hymn, written by Valerius Herberger in 1613 with a melody by de [Melchior Teschner]. It is part de [Evangelisches Gesangbuch] (EG) under number 523.

Johann Sebastian Bach used single stanzas of the hymn, in his cantata Christus, der ist mein Leben, BWV 95 and in his St John Passion.
