The creation of the post of Regius Professor of Computer Science was announced in 2013 at the University of Southampton to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II.^[1]^[2]

Nick Jennings was appointed as the first Regius Professor of Computer Science in 2014.
