Configurator visualization
Although customers gain substantial value through the use of configurators, some additional costs have to be considered. Uncertainty plays a key role in this context. Customers must understand what their needs are, they encounter uncertainty during the design process and must usually pay in advance.
As it is impossible for customers to build up a relationship to the physical product they are planning to buy, virtual product visualization is of utmost importance. Visualization provides the customer a real feeling about the product, and gives him a substitute for the not yet existing product. The major point is to illustrate the configured achievement. “What you see is what you get” is the golden rule to give the customer a good feeling about the product, to make him buy and show him competence.
Therefore, visualization is one of the strongest instruments to create trust and reduce the risk perceived of the user − and to increase the willingness to purchase.
