The European Symposium on Programming (ESOP) is an annual conference devoted to fundamental issues in the specification, design, analysis, and implementation of programming languages and systems. It is one of the 10 top conferences in Programming Languages [1] [2] and is given the highest scores in major Conference Rankings. [3]

Initially a biannual conference, in 1998 ESOP was transformed into an annual conference and became one of the founding conferences of the European Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software (ETAPS),[4] which is the primary European forum for academic and industrial researchers working on topics relating to Software Science.
