Genomes On Line Database (GOLD) is a web based resource for comprehensive information regarding genome and metagenome sequencing projects, and their associated metadata, around the world.[1] As of 3 August 2012, version 4.0 of the database contains information 17,431 genome sequencing projects, of which 3,450 have been completed.[2] The GOLD database is run by the DOE Joint Genome Institute.
