What the fudge is a CI?

It's in the text, and in the diagram too. Wiki search turned up empty, no useful definition whatsoever. If not clarified -> word made up by an author or not widely used -> image and text should be removed --89.204.154.23 (talk) 11:34, 3 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
