My review of this article

I am a student on the Communicate OER project's P2PU School of Open course

I am reviewing this article according to the instructions at WP:Communicate OER.

I suggest changing the article in the following ways: Adding some images and media rich content as the article is otherwise a little bland, it could do with a some company logo's especially as there is reference to Open Training and Unesco. I notice that there are limited references and external links, Id like to try and add to this and expand on the information be completing some research and determine whether I can add to the existing information.

Thank you for your attention. LukeLynch (talk) 13:28, 2 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Luke - that's great! I'd say go for it. Be Bold. :) - Sara FB (talk) 22:28, 4 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, Litjade makes it clear this needs further evaluation. Totally agree! - Sara FB (talk) 15:48, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Picking up where LukeLynch left off, I've two initial concerns. First, the text doesn't clarify whether "Open Learning for Development" is a concept, program, special term, or something else. Second, the lack of third-party citations raises a question about the article's notability. Given the fact that UNESCO figures into the history of open educational resources, the effort to improve this article seems worthwhile. Once the article better reflects what "Open Learning for Development" is, a discussion can begin about whether the content can stand alone as an article or be subsumed under a broader topic like Open learning or Open Educational Practices. I'd be happy for collaboration, pointers and comments on this one! --Litjade (talk) 22:17, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Findings about "open learning for development"

The term "open learning for development" seems to apply more broadly than solely to describe UNESCO's Open Training Platform initiative. For example, the thematic title of the Commonwealth of Learning's 7th Pan-Commonwealth Forum on Open Learning (PCF7), in December 2013, is "Open Learning for Development: Towards Empowerment and Transformation," and its first forum, in 1999, is titled Pan-Commonwealth Forum on Open Learning. For another example, the World Bank's Open Knowledge Repository initiative can also be described as promoting "open learning for development." It therefore seems reasonable to update this article's title, from "Open Learning for Development" to the lowercase convention of "Open learning for development". --Litjade (talk) 18:12, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
