On Wikipedia, there are a multitude of editors. Each one has their own opinions on what an event is. Thus, when some local event comes to their attention, they might be tempted to place a current events tag upon a page that is related to it. Unfortunately, the editor might use the tag on a page for an event that isn't that notable. Just because your local high school football team won the division super bowl doesn't mean that a current event tag needs to be placed on the page of your high school. If your business decides to donate to a worthy cause, please don't tag the business with the current events template. Current events are events that are known around the world. Tagging an article unnecessarily causes extra work for editors who have to remove the tag. In the end, think about it before you place the template into the page.
