WWW: Writing, Wikipedia, and Wizardry in Scientific Communication is a course in the Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy PhD program at the University of Southern California. The goal of the course is to introduce students to fundamentals of scientific writing, in the practical context of developing scientific content for Wikipedia that enhances consolidation and accessibility of important results in the field of Kinesiology.
Bokkyu Kim — Background, research interests, and goal for the course
I am a licensed physical therapist in South Korea. I have three-year clinical experiences in neurologic physical therapy area in South Korea. I have two bachelors' degree — bachelor of physical therapy and bachelor of health management — and a MS degree in rehabilitation science from Korea University. My research during the master's course was related to neurobiology of spinal cord injury in rats. Current my research interest is understanding mechanism underlying motor learning of individuals after stroke, and developing novel therapeutic approaches for people with neurologic disorder based on the motor learning mechanism to ameliorate their physical function. The goals for this course is to improve my scientific writing skills, and to learn about how I can communicate effectively with other people about my research.
