"System Addict"
Song

System Addict is the name of a 1986 hit single by British pop group Five Star, peaking at UK #3 in January of that year and later becoming their second biggest-selling 7 inch with over 220,000 sales recorded. It became the group's breakthrough, as it became their first major Top 10 hit. It charted slowley at UK #42, but after just 2 weeks, it was at No.3. It spent a total of 10 weeks inside the UK top 75, five of those inside the top 10. The video is set in a computer room, which shows the group doing a dance routine as computers fuse and malfunction. Hence the name 'System Addict', which means being addicted to being on a computer.

System Addict is a firm favourite with fans, and many people remember the song as Five Star's first major hit in the charts.

The song was so fondly remembered, even by Five Star themselves, and was remixed and released again in July 2005, although it did not make the UK Top 75, but it did hit #1 on the UK Dance Chart.
