My background
I am a licensed physical therapist in South Korea. I was trained as a physical therapist from two institutions in South Korea: Korea University in Seoul and Gachon Medicine and Science University in Incheon. As a physical therapist, I worked at several rehabilitation hospitals and clinics. I usually worked on rehabilitation for neurologic patients, such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, or spinal cord injury. I also received a Master of Science degree in rehabilitation science from Korea University. My research during the master's course was related to neurobiology of spinal cord injury in rats. After I finished my master's degree, I wanted to experience more clinical practice in neurorehabilitation. So I worked at a rehabilitation hospital for stroke patients, and after a year, I realized that I want to learn more about the clinical research for stroke patients. So I applied for the PhD program in Biokinesiology at University of Southern California, and now I am here as a second-year PhD student.
