An embedded microprocessor is a microprocessor designed for embedded applications. Embedded microprocessors are designed specifically for applications rather than general purpose usage, so they can perform better than general purpose processors in their specific applications. Embedded processors are manufactured in bulk and the cost of them is lower than general purpose processors; they also consume less power.
