I was doing a search of the net to see if there were some established functions that give values trapazoidal wave forms, and I found your page. Turns out that this function provides a great way to determine circle - rectangle collision results.

Definition of PPn

There seems to be an error in your definition of ${\mbox{PP}}_{n}$:

${\mbox{PP}}_{n}(x)=\sec({\tfrac {2}{n}}\sin ^{-1}(\sin({\tfrac {n}{2}}x)))$

$\sin ^{-1}$ is the inverse of $\sin$ so you canreduce this to:

${\mbox{PP}}_{n}(x)=\sec({\tfrac {2}{n}}{\tfrac {n}{2}}x)$ Which you can further reduce to ${\mbox{PP}}_{n}(x)=\sec(x)$ assuming n isn't 0.
