This reads like an advertisement for Federal Work-Study, rather than an encyclopedia article for it.
- I agree. Also, where is the history for the program? Under whose administration did it start under? Has anyone ever tried cutting it?
- This focuses on the students' perspective and doesn't talk about employer qualifications, requirements, etc. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.19.40.172 (talk) 06:18, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
- The beginning is a copy of http://www2.ed.gov/programs/fws/ ; the rest is presumably a copy of some other government publication, but I cannot find it--but it's undoubtedly PD-US-gov so it isn't a copyvio in any case. It obviously needs total rewriting. I am considering speedy deletion under criterion G11, for blatantly promotional articles. But I'm probably not going to do that, or start fixing the article, or even tag it, because it's part of the trial feedback program , Category:Article Feedback Pilot, & ut will be interesting to see what other think of it. (there are a few others in that program pretty much like it, and a few particularly unreadable ones that seem direct copies of the federal register) DGG ( talk ) 19:40, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
Limitation of Majors
Factual question: the article say the program is " for students involved in certain majors. " I see no statement at all limiting this in the documentation of the US gov website. There are now &have previously been some loan forgiveness programs limited to certain fields, and there have certainly been scholarship awards limited to certain fields, but I have never known such to be true of this program. I'm reluctant to conclude a article apparently written by a US gov agency would have made this error , but can anyone find such documentation? Perhaps the document is the work of some commercial financial assistance or college advisory site or firm--from the wording, it is not the documentation of any one specific college.
