Page Plus Cellular is a prepaid wireless service provider operating in the United States. Page Plus, as an Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), uses Verizon Wireless network to provide its services.[1]

History

Page Plus Cellular was established in 1993 as Page Plus Communications, selling pager services in the Toledo, Ohio area. In August 1998 the company was renamed Page Plus Cellular and launched services in Ohio and Michigan. A nationwide launch happened two years later, in 2000. In 2001, they were ranked the fourth best MVNO by RCR Wireless News.[2]

Page Plus' has its corporate office is in the town of Holland, Ohio, is owned by Abdul Yassine, and as of April 2013, the BBB had given it a rating of A, noted one government action and 290 complaints closed with BBB in last 3 years.[3]

Services

Page Plus Cellular offers both pay-as-you-go plans and monthly plans. Customers add minutes to their prepaid cell phone account by purchasing refill cards, which are available in various increments. The higher the card denomination purchased, the lower the per-minute rate applied.

Page Plus Cellular has an unusual unofficial open device policy, this means most Verizon postpaid and Alltel phones can be activated (with limitations). Other CDMA phones can also be flashed or re-programmed to use Page Plus' network including devices from Sprint, MetroPCS, Cricket, U.S. Cellular, among others (excluding Virgin Mobile USA phones which are heavily locked down to the network); however, Page Plus cannot activate "Verizon Wireless Prepaid" or "Alltel U Prepaid" phones.

Authorized Dealers

Due to only having one office, Page Plus Cellular sources its services to dealers who work as independent contractors under their own company name. Such sellers are known as "Authorized Dealers" with either physical or online stores and include Page Plus CA, Kitty Wireless and Southeast Cell.
