GetDataBack is a data recovery software developed by Runtime Software. It can be used to recover data from external and internal hard disks, in the FAT and the NTFS file systems, although different variants of the program are needed for each file system. Registration of the software is required in order to recover data with the software. This allows you to find out whether the program can actually recover your data before making a payment in case it does not.
GetDataBack is very thorough in analyzing disc sectors, MFD entries and may take up to 14 hours to analyze a 1 TB usb disc. The chance of recovering your data is very high, even if you reformatted your disc (but did not overwrite it with new files). It's a program you hope to never use but as long as hard drives and USB external drives are not 100% reliable, it will prove its usefulness.
