SmartFTP is a network file transfer program for Microsoft Windows that supports file transfer via FTP, FTPS, SFTP, WebDAV, Amazon S3 and Rapidshare protocols. It supports SSL/TLS, IPv6 and FXP, and features a backup tool, a transfer queue, proxy and firewall support, multiple connections, chmod features, Drag-and-drop and localization for over 20 languages, including English, Dutch, French, German, Spanish, Persian, Finnish, Japanese and Chinese and other.[1] The software uses the Windows API for its interface. It is available for both IA-32 and x64 editions of Windows.
Licensing
Prior to July 2008, the software was free to home or non-profit users. On July 7, 2008 a post on the SmartFTP forums announced that the software was no longer free to use.[2]
Editions
SmartFTP is available in three editions, Home, Professional and Ultimate. Professional edition includes all features in Home editions plus SFTP over SSH, WebDAV, file encryption, Email notifications, multi uploader and scripting. The Ultimate edition includes all features of the Professional Edition plus Amazon S3, Rapidshare support an a Terminal client.[3]
