Resty Woro Yuniar from Wall Street Journal: Southeast Asia gave the film a three and a half rating out of 5, saying "while the plot is predictable, the movie does give a viewer a good feel for the country" and notes "the movie does a fairly good job of capturing Indonesian traditions"[1]
