The Algorithm is a music project of the French Toulouse sedentary musician Rémi Gallego. It combines electro with features of Progressive Metal .

Chose the name The Algorithm Gallego to highlight the complexity and its electronic music in general. [1] Contents

History

After Rémi Gallegos former band Dying Breath disbanded, he decided in 2009 to look for potential members for a new band to go that focus, inspired by the band The Dillinger Escape Plan , to Mathcore should be. After a futile search for new members, Gallegos began with his guitar and a digital audio workstation to produce his own music. [2] In December 2009 and July 2010, he released two demo tapes and CRITICAL.ERROR The Doppler Effect, which reports on its website have been released for free download. Gallegos announced in late 2010 that he on a new EP with the working name of identity, but this was never completed. In addition, he prepared himself for the first live performance. [3]

In August 2011, published Rémi Gallego that for free download released compilation Method_ on which the songs of the previous two demos were put together. [4] This was followed in October 2011, a performance at the annual in Cologne held Euro Blast Festival , where Gallego as with bands Textures , TesseracT or Vildhjarta occurred. [5] A month later published Mike Malyan, drummer for the band Monument , a drum cover of the song Isometry, which he on the Internet portal YouTube introduced. After this Gallego could convince them that it would be possible to play the songs on a real drum kit, Malyan was presented as an accompaniment in live performance. [6] That same month signed Gallego one record deal with the British record label Basick Records . [7]

In January 2012, published the Gallego single Tr0jans via Basick Records, which was only available digitally. It was followed by appearances in the second edition of in Karlsruhe held Djentivals , and on the UK tech Metalfest in London , where he was responsible, among other Uneven Structure and Chimp Spanner occurred. [7] [8] On 19 November 2012 was about Basick Records Polymorphic code with the debut album released the band, which included, in addition to the song Tr0jans another seven previously unreleased songs. In January 2013 Gallego played alongside Enter Shikari , and Cancer Bats at a concert in Paris . [8]

Style

For live performance used Rémi Gallego an Akai APC40, a digital audio workstation of the company Akai , which together with the German company Ableton has been developed.
