1.0 January 1999 This was BlackBerry OS debut and it was released for the Pager BlackBerry 580.
3.6 March 2002 Released on the BlackBerry 5810 smartphone.
5.0 August 4th 2008 It was released on Bold 9000 and came to the other BlackBerrys months later.
6.0 Q3 2010 On April 2010, RIM announced the BlackBerry OS 6.0 version, which was released in the Q3 2010.[1]
7.0 Summer 2011 It was officially released in August 2011 making its appearance on the BlackBerry Bold (9900/9930), BlackBerry Torch (9810/9850/9860), and the BlackBerry Curve (9350/9360/9370/9380). Any previous devices cannot be updated to BlackBerry OS 7. An update with added features, named OS 7.1 was released later that year.[2]
7.1 January 9th, 2012 It has now been superseded by version 10, but is still sold by Blackberry on phones. This added several new features compared to 7.0 including[3]

10.0 January 30th, 2013 This was an overhaul compared to all the previous versions, using the QNX kernel and dropping backward compatibility. (old OS apps will not work with it) and only being available on the new Blackberry 10 series of smartphones (no upgrade path available from previous phones due to specific hardware requirements not satisfied in the older phones).

It was released on the BlackBerry Z10, with the classic BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard edition (BlackBerry Q10) to follow in April.
