It has now been superseded by version 10, but is still sold by Blackberry on phones. This added several new features compared to 7.0 including[1]
This was a overhaul compared to all the previous versions using the QNX kernel and dropping backward compatibilility. (old OS apps will not work with it) and only being available on the new Blackberry 10 series of smartphones (no upgrade path available from previous phones due to specific hardware requirements not satisfied in the older phones).
