Appropriate Rural Technology Institute [ARTI] is a Indian Non-governmental organisation founded by a group of about 20 scientists and technologists to develop innovative and environmentally friendly rural technologies based on modern scientific knowledge in 1996. ARTI is the only organization in the world to win the prestigious Ashden Award twice.[1][2][3]
ARTI was honoured for ‘Technological Innovation’ for having developed a wide range of clean cooking technologies from improved wood burning stoves to compact biogas plants running on waste food by Partnership for Clean Indoor Air (PCIA).
