Top Subject is a must-have for Category:C++ and is considered a core topic. C++ programmers are generally well-versed on the topic, and others will likely have some familiarity with it. Example: C++, Bjarne Stroustrup
High Subject is vital to the field of C++. C++ programmers will be familiar with the topic, and it is frequently covered in textbooks, articles, etc. Example: Reference (C++)
Mid Subject is well-known to language experts and enthusiasts, but it is not considered a vital concept. Published material from a variety of sources exists for the subject. Example: Boost C++ Libraries
