Regarding the MacOSX version, JAI is now embedded within 10.4.

None of the download links on the Oracle website actually work. The state of this product seems unclear. Is it still available, or has it been integrated into J2SE? If the latter is true, then all of the documentation has either gone missing or is horribly out of date.
