Hi, i am on the commitee of the Flyfisher's Club and would like to add some content. I don't think I am going about it correctly as my contributions are deleted. I see you are quite active on the London Clubs and wondered if you could help me? morganjonesuk@gmail.com Morganix79 (talk) 13:43, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:CSLDBannerlogo.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Hi DebonairChap - I noticed you created the above article, which I had previously been discussing with User:Morganix79. I added a couple more sentences and references to it, and was considering nominating it for WP:DYK (although it needs a little more work before it meets the criteria) and I was wondering what you thought?

Another thing that came into my mind - I had no idea there were so many articles on clubs, but I see you have worked on a lot of them. Do you think it would be useful to have an infobox specifically for clubs, in a similar vein to {{Infobox company}} and others? I'm a template beginner, but I've been thinking of getting more knowledge in this area! --Kateshortforbob talk 14:41, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your reply on my talk page, Debonairchap. I've added a couple more bits and pieces to Flyfishers' Club this morning, and listed it for consideration at WP:DYK (here). As for the infobox, I can see how the variation in club information could be a problem, although a template might save some time formatting the infoboxes. Hmm, will have do some reading, I think. (Good luck with the PhD, by the way!)--Kateshortforbob talk 11:38, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia

Hi. I see that you recently created the article Flyfishers' Club with content from another contributor. While you are welcome to re-use material that has been put on Wikipedia, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor. When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to make a note in an edit summary at the source page as well. In cases such as this, it is generally better to do a page move to keep the history intact. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:44, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Flyfishers' Club

Updated DYK query On November 24, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Flyfishers' Club, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Cambridge election results

Hi,

Can you please put the election results on Cambridge (UK Parliament constituency) back in reverse chronological order? The vast majority of the readers will be more interested in the candidates this time than the results in 1832.

Also, what year are you using as the Tory-Conservative boundary? It's usually taken to be 1834, the date of the Tamworth Manifesto. Wereon (talk) 01:51, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Debonairchap. Thanks for creating the new The Heroine article. I nominated the article to be published on the Did you know section of Wikipedia's main page, but was informed that all paragraphs need to be sourced in the article (except for the lead) to qualify for DYK (see Wikipedia:Did you know/Supplementary guidelines). So, if you're interested in the prospect of this being listed at DYK, feel free to add more sources to the article so that all paragraphs have at least one source, from which point it can be renominated. The nomination for DYK is located here: Template:Did you know nominations/The Heroine. Cheers, Northamerica1000(talk) 10:30, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
