Kevin Bisbangian was born in Tehran, Iran. From early childhood he had a passion for movies as well as classic American TV series such as Mission Impossible directed by the great Iranian director Reza Badiyi, and Wild Wild West which was shown on CBS for four seasons, created by Michael Garrison. Kevin admired actors such as James Cagney, Humphrey Bogartant and Edward G Robinson and as a teenager was mesmerised by Marlon Brando and Dustin Hoffman. Amongst his favourite Iranian film makers are Parviz Sayyad, Ebrahim Golestan and Nasser Taghvai and favourite Iranian actors include Fakhri khorvash, Ezatolah Entezami, Nosrat Karimi, Arham Sadr and Behrouz Vosoughi. Kevin also thinks highly of Michael Chapman for Taxi Driver and Raging Bull, as well as Pawel Edelman for the cinematography of The Ghost Writer. His favourite editor is Thelma Schoonmaker.
As a youngster, Kevin became interested in poetry and literature, and reading the works of poets such as Nosat Rahmani, Karo Darderian and Akhavan Sales inspired his own writing of poetry. Some of Kevin's early poems were published in Iranian magazines such as the Ferdowsi weekly magazine.
Studying Computer Science in London, UK, and gaining his MSc, Kevin then went on to acquire his Chartered Engineering title from the British Computer Society and as a Computer Consultant has since been working in several countries. Kevin loves travelling and has visited more than 30 countries.
As an actor, Kevin has studied Method Acting, Improvisation, Stanislavski Approach as well as Accents for Actors. The first film he made was a private documentary, made in China. About a year after that he wrote, produced and directed his next project, Broken Wings, with the help of his good friends, Amir Hossein, Judith Wyler, A Vafsi and Anita Reitshammer. Since the completion of Broken Wings, Kevin has produced and directed several other projects such as Dream of Freedom, Last Letter, A Man Who Chewed His Veins, Poetic Emotion and Chain Reaction. In 2013 he is planning to complete Salome, Behind the Stage, and A Week With Freddie. Kevin's first feature length film is scheduled to be made in 2014-2015.
