FOB Arian was originally Combat Post Arian, but in 2011 rapidly expanded to FOB size. It is in Ghazni Province.

The FOB was given its name by Polish troops. Spelling variations exist and one of those variations (Aryan) caused a minor flap when some commentators in the United States assumed the COP was somehow named after the Aryan race.

FOB Arian is a primitive location with few comforts.
