Buildbase is a national builders merchant with 130 branches throughout the UK. The business was formed in 1996 when Grafton Group plc acquired a builders merchant in Oxford which became the first branch. Buildbase has grown through acquisition and by opening greenfield sites. It also has a specialist tool, plant and equipment hire business called Hirebase (over 50 branches).

Buildbase branches predominantly serve small to medium-sized builders and DIY enthusiasts. The business is a member of the Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) and ahderes to the BMF Industry Charter.

The company has links with many sporting sides and was the main sponsor of Oxford United for nine seasons, culminating in the club's promotion back into the Football League,[1] and in January 2009 renewed their sponsorship of speedway team Coventry Bees for the sixth year.[2] Other sponsorship includes the Kawasaki team in British Superbikes,[3]
